Utilizing Trends for Good! More Self-confidence, Less Waste
Are you tired of feeling like you have to constantly keep up with the latest trends? Do you feel like you have to frequently reinvent yourself to stay relevant? Well, it's time to throw those trends out the window and embrace your true self!
The problem with trends
Trends can be a total drag because they often make us feel like we're not good enough. We feel like we have to keep buying more and more stuff to stay up-to-date and stay "relevant". This constant need to stay current can make us feel like we need to change our identity and continually reinvent ourselves. And let's be real, most of these passing trends aren't even rooted in anything meaningful to us as individuals, leading to more waste. Sad!
A Solution
The solution is simple: determine your personal style! This will give you a solid foundation for who you are and how you can stay true to yourself no matter what trends come and go. You can then use trends to find new pieces and treatments that fit your style. But don't get too caught up in what's "trendy" – it's important to be okay with knowing that there's a difference between what is right for someone else and what is right for you. You might think a trend is super cool, but if it's not true to who you are, you'll likely grow tired of it as the trend fades away into obscurity.
But it’s not a binary thing. You don’t have to say, “Yuck! A trend!” at everything that comes and goes. Once you determine your personal style, you might notice that a trend arrives and happens to fit your style. Neat-o, grab it! But if it doesn’t? It’s time to let it go and stay true to your own style.
The result
By embracing your personal style and using trends for good, the result will be more self-confidence that comes with the knowledge of who you are and how to translate that visually. You'll be a trend-busting champ, uniquely yourself (a goal we all wish we could accomplish). Plus, you'll create less waste and have a longer-lasting style/wardrobe/home decor. And who doesn't want that?!
So let's embrace our personal style and use trends for good! More self-confidence and less waste, here we come!
