print on demand shop. how it works!

It’s me, Meg! Being possibly too transparent! About not being Amazon! But also trying my best!

Print on Demand

Meg, why Print on Demand?

We use a print on demand service (Printful) to cut down on environmental waste. Contrary to what you may believe, I’m not selling hundreds of each product, but rather a handful here and there. Rather than buying bulk from a printing wholesaler and having dozens of unsold products leftover, print on demand allows me to produce only what is sold and keep the waste at a minimum. Additionally, as a creator print on demand allows me to keep a low overhead business making sure these products end up in your hands/home/body at all, rather than waiting for an investor or large client to fund my ability to produce products and rent a fulfillment space. Less waste! Lower overhead! A bonus: Printful also has fulfillment locations around the globe allowing for lower airplane emissions and friendlier customs fees.

But Meg, how does print on demand work?

You place an order through my shop and the lovely humans of Printful get to work producing the product, quality checking it, and then shipping it out. The entire process takes about 3-7 business days before shipment (depending on the product). Printful takes their cut and the rest goes into the Meg Lewis Fun House fund, allowing us to create more stuff! and things! for you to enjoy.

Be honest Meg, what are the negatives of print on demand?

I’m here to be transparent! Some future day I’d love to not have to use a print on demand service, but for now I must (see above). I’d much rather support a small and local printing company and produce small runs of products available in a more extensive sizing range. Keeping things within my control would allow for me to oversee all aspects, accept returns and exchanges, and even keep more money for myself. But alas! Here we are with what we can have for now: print on demand. Your support today will allow me to do bigger and better things in the future!

Delivery

Meg Lewis! When will I get my order?

Usually, it takes 3–7 days to fulfill an order, after which it’s shipped out. The shipping time depends on your location, but can be estimated as follows:

● USA: 3–4 business days
● Europe: 6–8 business days
● Australia: 2–14 business days
● Japan: 4–8 business days
● Everywhere else: 10–20 business days

**COVID-19 & SUPPLY CHAIN UPDATE** Fulfillment times may be longer than usual and may continue to increase until things get back to normal. I’m seeing delays in the supply chain, including distributors and shipping carriers as the entire industry is grappling with challenges.

Excuse me, but, where will my order ship from?

Our print on demand service has order fulfillment company with facilities worldwide, your order will ship from the nearest fulfillment center.

Um, hellooo Meg! Will I be charged customs for my order?

An additional customs and tax fee can occur on international orders. This fee is not in our control and is assessed by your local customs office. Customs policies vary widely for every country so please check with your local customs office directly to see if they apply duties and taxes to your purchases.

Ack! Meg! My order should be here by now but there’s no sign of it. What should I do?

Before getting in touch with me, please help us out by doing the following:

  • Check your shipping confirmation email for any mistakes in the delivery address

  • Ask your local post office if they have your package

  • Stop by your neighbors in case the courier left the package with them If the shipping address was correct, and the package wasn't left at the post office or at your neighbor’s, get in touch with us at boop@meglewis.com with your order number. If you did find a mistake in your delivery address, we can send you a replacement order, but shipping will be at your own cost.

Orders

Meg! How do I track my order?

You’ll receive a tracking link via email when your order ships out. If you have any questions about your tracking or shipment, drop us a line at boop@meglewis.com.

Oh no, Meg! I received a wrong/damaged product, what should I do?

Oops! I’m so sorry if the product you ordered arrived damaged. That’s not cool. To help me resolve this for you quickly, please email us at boop@meglewis.com within a weeks' time with photos of the damaged product, your order number, and any other details you may have about your order. I can quickly submit your photos and issue a claim so we can have a replacement item sent to you. I’ll get back to you with a resolution as soon as possible!

Returns & Exchanges

Ayo, Meg, what’s your return policy?

Here’s the sad part and the only time in my life that I wish I was Jeff Bezos. Our print on demand service, Printful, does not allow returns or exchanges, which means I also cannot. I do my best to make this as transparent as possible with size charts out the butt, but sometimes things still don’t fit right. So let me offer you some resources for what to do with your unwanted goods from my shop:

Gift to a friend!
Send the item to a friend you think would love it. I’ll be happy to print out a mailing label for you! Just email me at boop@meglewis.com and we can get the process started.

Donate!
Consider donating to an organization that accepts the type of item you’re not loving from my shop. Most clothing donations end up going to a landfill anyway (a sad truth), but you’re most likely to keep it out of a landfill if it’s in good condition.

Resell on Depop, Poshmark, Ebay!
Start a shop on a clothing resale site (I love Depop!) and allow someone who wants it to give you money in return. You might not make all your money back but you’ll ensure the item goes to someone who really loves it.

We don’t offer returns and exchanges, but if there’s something defective about your order, please let us know by contacting us at boop@meglewis.com with photos of the defect and I can have a fresh new product sent to you.

Don’t break my heart, Meg. Do you offer refunds?

No! I really hate this part and it’s why it took me so long to open a dang shop. Because my print on demand supplier does not allow refunds, I cannot either. If you receive the wrong item or a damaged item, I can send you a replacement. If this is the case, please contact me at boop@meglewis.com with photos of wrong/damaged items and we’ll sort that out for you.

But but but, Meg! Can I exchange an item for a different size or color?

I wish you could know how sorry I am, but I don't offer exchanges. If you’re unsure which size would fit better, check out our sizing charts—we have one for every item listed on its product page, in the product description section. Though rare, it's possible that an item you ordered was mislabelled. If that’s the case, please let us know at boop@meglewis.com within a week after receiving your order. Include your order number and photos of the mislabeled item, and we’ll send you a new one!
